Jason Jeffrey “Jay” Crater was more than a talented athlete—he was a beacon of kindness, teamwork, and selflessness. Though Jay's life was tragically cut short on January 7, 2025, his final act of organ donation continues to transform lives and shape our mission.

Born in Paoli, Pennsylvania, Jay grew up in Royersford, where he developed a deep love for baseball. Whether behind the plate or on the field, Jay played with heart, determination, and an unwavering commitment to his team. His passion for the game was matched only by his dedication to those around him—always uplifting others, always putting people first.

At just 17 years old, Jay had already built a reputation for his strong work ethic, leadership, and selflessness. He excelled in his work, athletics, and hobbies, but above all, he was known for his kind and giving spirit. Jay’s ability to bring people together and make them feel valued was a gift that extended far beyond the baseball field.

To honor his incredible spirit, Jay's mother, Crystal, founded Angel Behind The Plate: The Jay Crater Legacy Foundation. Through this foundation, we continue Jay’s mission of helping young athletes, spreading kindness, and advocating for organ donation awareness.
